GoI launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission on 4 January 2022 with the aim of making India the hub for production and export of Green Hydrogen. This was to further India's efforts towards energy independence and leverage on the already successful renewable energy program. The mission has an outlay of Rs. 19,744 cr till FY30 and has the following objectives:
Mission Objectives to be reached by 2030:
1. Green Hydrogen production capacity of > 5 MTPA with associated RE capacity addition of 125 GW
2. 60-100 GW electrolyser capacity
3. Total investment of Rs. 8,00,000 cr.
4. Creation of 6,00,000 jobs
